About Carvoeiro

A small town with about 3,000 inhabitants in the Algarve. First historical references date back to the year 1544th. For Pirates Carvoeiro was at that time a popular starting destination - today for tourists. Here you will find the most beautiful sections of the Algarve cliffs such as the Algar Seco. Five sandy beaches can be found in and around Carvoeiro, which are embedded in an imposing rock scenery. Praia do Carvoeiro: The beach of the former fishing village is one of the most picturesque beaches in the Algarve.
Th is very well known by the holiday-makers: In the months of July and August the only 200 m long sandy beach ie very popular with sun worshipers. Some beach bars provide snacks and refreshments. Between high and rugged cliffs on both sides of the bay are scattered coloured fishing boats. The fine, light sand is very clean. In the water are few, but very flat rocks, to which should be given attention. You can rent sun beds and sun shades. Showers and toilets, a rescue station, various restaurants, bistros and bars are nearby.You can park when you drive up the Estrada do Farol, and turn right towards to Algar Seco. Along the sea promenade to the Church "Capela de Nossa Senhora da Rocha" are diverse parking available.
